The Private Tenancies Bill follows on from the Department for Communities’ consultation on firm proposals for change and will include measures to improve the safety, security and quality of the Private Rented Sector. The Department put in place The Private Tenancies (Coronavirus Modifications) Regulations (NI) 2021 which temporarily ensure private tenants are protected from eviction during the COVID-19 pandemic. A speaker from the Department for Communities will be on hand to discuss the legislation in more detail.
