Add Auctions — Add Growth
Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how partnering with an auctioneer or auction platform can unlock new revenue streams, accelerate deal flow, and strengthen client relationships across both property and chattels. Traditional sales routes don’t suit every asset or every client circumstance — and in a market where speed, certainty and transparency matter more than ever, auction can be a powerful strategic tool rather than a last resort.
Through real-world examples from the UK and US markets, this session will explore how agents and property professionals can integrate auction into their existing service offering — whether through referral partnerships, white-label solutions, or fully embedded auction services. We’ll demonstrate how to identify the right assets for auction, how to position them positively with clients, and how to structure partnerships that create additional income without increasing overhead.
With insights from Izzie Balmer (BBC antiques expert), Katherine Lappe (US auction platform leader), and Stuart Collar-Brown, President of NAVA Propertymark and property auctioneer with over 20 years’ experience, attendees will leave with practical frameworks to monetise stock that might otherwise stagnate, improve fee recovery, and build a more resilient, diversified business model.
Izzie Balmer
Izzie is a familiar face to antiques enthusiasts through her appearances on BBC programmes including Antiques Road Trip, The Travelling Auctioneers, Flog It! and Bargain Hunt. With over a decade of auction house experience, she now works independently as an auctioneer, valuer and consultant across the Cotswolds and the South-West. A general valuer specialising in jewellery, she holds FGA and DGA diplomas from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.
Kathleen Lappe
Kathleen Lappe is the Co-Founder and CEO of DirectOffer and the Founder of AuctionLook, a leading U.S. real estate auction platform integrating directly with MLS and brokerage systems. With extensive experience in the auction sector, she has helped modernise how property is bought and sold, championing auctions as a tool for speed, certainty and price discovery. Through AuctionLook, she has built one of the only platforms embedding auction capabilities into traditional real estate workflows, expanding service and revenue opportunities for agents.
Stuart Collar-Brown
Stuart began his career as an estate agent in Bath back in 2003 and made the switch to land and property auctions in 2008 working for a local, independent auction house. Due to his experience within different auction houses throughout his career, he has developed a deep understanding of the auction market and understands the strengths and weaknesses of each discipline whether it be ballroom auctions, traditional or conditional online auctions.
