Simon Birley
Sales Manager, Landmark Estate Agency Services
Simon has worked in the industry’s digital solutions space for over 14 years, supplying many of the country's largest agents as well as small independents with the tools they need to ease their daily pain points. Having started out in 2007 at FindaProperty.com, Simon was approached by the DMGT Group to join Landmark Estate Agency Services. He now develops and steers the team's sales strategy for their onboarding products to creating an agent-focused solution that helps mitigate the threat of HMRC and gets transactions moving quicker.
Robert Bolwell
Partner, Dutton Gregory Solicitors
Rob is a partner of Dutton Gregory and founded their Landlord and Tenant department in 1993. He has immense experience of landlord and tenant issues, has been seen on BBC’s Watchdog and is a regular contributor to industry publications. Rob’s work includes complicated dilapidations and possession cases as well as working for clients with large block management portfolios.
Gary Elliott
Assessment Manager, Propertymark Qualifications
Gary plays a key role in bringing new qualifications and assessments to the property industry. He brings a wealth of assessment and qualification experience having worked in education and awarding sectors for over 20 years. Having gone full circle Gary started his career as an apprentice in the Army and now supports the design and development of the End-Point Assessment (EPA) for a range of apprenticeship standards.
His work also involves research for new qualifications, ways to improve our candidate experience, and the quality assurance processes for our existing qualifications. Keen to share some of the recent developments with you at this event, Gary is also looking forward to hearing your feedback which can help to shape future qualifications for the property industry.
Maxine Fothergill
President, ARLA Propertymark
Maxine is the Managing Director and Founder of Amax Estates based in Gravesend who have been successfully trading for over 20 years. Specialising in lettings, sales and block management, she is very proud of the achievements her firm has gained demonstrated by the 26 industry awards it has achieved.
Maxine originally started in the industry in 1988 and is a member of NAEA Propertymark and ARLA Propertymark, a Fellow of IRPM and a RICS Associate. She is also a trainer of landlords and agents and has successfully trained over 5000 delegates to date.
Liana Loporto-Browne
President, NAEA Propertymark
Liana has over 22 years’ experience working in both large corporate and boutique agencies and enjoys the thrill of sharing in client and buyer journeys. She started her career at the largest real estate company in her native Malta, before re-locating to the UK in what was supposed to be a sabbatical. Her experience in ‘the most vibrant property market in the world’ with one of the leading corporate agencies in London meant she never left.
Neil Martin
Business and Motivational Speaker
Neil has worked with thousands of agents to help them increase their profile, productivity and profits. His experiences have been featured on the BBC, Huffington Post and Thrive Magazine. He is a multi-award winning speaker who regularly shares his stories and strategies to help inspire others at seminars and events throughout the UK and internationally.
Elaine Penhaul
Founder, Lemon and Lime Interiors
Elaine is passionate about property staging as a powerful marketing tool and keen to debunk the myth of staging being a ‘nice to have’ service aligned with interior design. Her multi award-winning UK property staging business is utilised by agents such as Knight Frank, Savills and Fine and Country. Whilst her book Sell High, Sell Fast was published in October 2020 and immediately became an Amazon no.1 best-seller.
Both her business and Elaine personally have won many awards including the National Business Women’s Award for a micro business in 2021. She is regularly quoted as a thought leader in publications such as Estate Agent Today and The Times and contributes to many property podcasts. Elaine has also recently launched the first app to evidence return on investment for staging to a worldwide market.
Francis West
CEO, Security Everywhere
Originally from South Africa, Francis has spent nearly 30 years in the UK delivering IT and cyber security solutions to businesses. He launched Westtek Solutions with the aim of redefining IT Support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Through hard work and innovation, he has formed strategic partnerships to provide comprehensive support and cutting-edge cyber security solutions through Security Everywhere, a cyber security focussed business aimed at educating and protecting over one million people from cyberattacks by 2023. Francis is a mentor for CompTIA, helping train the technology gurus of the future and believes that it is the increase in cyberawareness that is at the heart of the solution to the threats we all face.
Clare Yates
CY Training Works
Clare has worked in the property industry for nearly 30 years. Starting out as a part-time weekend receptionist, her career has taken her from estate agency to new-build sales, holiday cottages, panel management and B2B sales but she is most well-known as a training consultant.
Clare has worked with some of the largest estate agents and law firms in the country, helping them to generate more business, improve customer care, improve sales progression and cross-sell related services.
