Level 3 Award in Inventory Practice for Residential Lettings (England)

Level 3 Award in Inventory Practice for Residential Lettings (England) is a valuable addition to your training portfolio. Designed to support learners working as, or aspiring to become, inventory professionals, this qualification delivers targeted knowledge of inventory procedures alongside essential understanding of the wider residential lettings sector in England.

Whether learners are independent clerks or part of a property agency team, this qualification helps them develop the skills and confidence to carry out professional inventory work in line with industry expectations.

Assessment

Each unit is assessed by a 30 question online examination which must be completed within 45 minutes.

Candidates are required to pass the two units listed below, they can be completed in any order. Once all units have been passed, Propertymark Qualifications will provide certification for the full qualification.

Unit 1: The Role of the Inventory Professional within Residential Lettings
Unit code: INVP1

This unit aims to provide the core knowledge for an Inventory Professional to successfully work within a residential lettings’ environment. It covers how to keep safe whilst working, including securing property and keys. It then moves on to develop knowledge and understanding of inventory preparation, periodic visits, and finally check-outs.

  1. Understand the issues around keeping safe at work
  2. Understand the processes and reasons for inventory preparation and check-in
  3. Understand the processes and reasons for periodic visits
  4. Understand the processes and reasons for check-out
Unit 2: Property Sector Knowledge for the Inventory Professional
Unit code: INVP2

This unit aims to provide independent inventory specialists in England with wider knowledge of the residential lettings sector in which they are working. It covers the importance of your own terms and conditions of business when working in the sector. It will develop your knowledge and understanding of tenancy agreements, moving onto look at fitness standards and responsibility for repair within residential lettings, and then considering the legal requirements relating to tenancy deposits.

Learning outcomes
  1. Understand the content and importance of terms and conditions of business
  2. Understand the purpose and requirements of a tenancy agreement
  3. Understand the safety and fitness standards for residential property and responsibility for repair
  4. Understand the legal requirements relating to tenancy deposits

The full assessment criteria and the knowledge, understanding and skills details for each learning outcome are available in the full qualification specification. 

Learners who want to develop their knowledge in other areas of property can progress onto other Level 3 qualifications such as Level 3 Certificate in Property Agency (Lettings/Sales/Commercial).

Property agency management qualifications
Those advancing into management roles can also move onto the Level 4 Certificate in Property Agency Management, building the leadership skills essential for career growth.
