The Renters' Rights Act will bring about huge change to the industry, and while we await Royal Assent, now is the time for all property professionals to begin planning for the transition and what's to come.

Henry joined Propertymark in April 2022 after having previously worked as the policy and research coordinator for a large Education Group. He supports members by digesting legislation and government policy to consider how this will impact the sector. On top of this, Henry currently attends and represents Propertymark at a number of government and industry working groups.   

Lesley Horton

Ombudsman, The Property Ombudsman

Lesley was appointed as The Property Ombudsman in February 2025 after almost three years as Deputy Ombudsman. Lesley spent much of her career in legal regulatory roles at the Solicitors Regulation Authority and a global compliance role at a FTSE 100 company. She also sits on The Bar Standards Board and previously sat on the ethics and integrity panel of the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner for Cumbria.

Alex Jeffery

Partner, Bright Solicitors

Alex heads up the Disputes and Litigation team at Bright Solicitors. He has experience in a wide range of litigation matters and predominately advises clients on contentious property matters such as commercial and residential landlords and tenants in connection with possession claims, dilapidations, and forfeiture. Alex also advises on matters arising from disputed rights of way, boundary issues together with general commercial property matters.
