The tenancy was perfect – until it wasn't

Good referencing gives an agent a clear picture of an applicant at the start of a tenancy. But it can't predict what might happen six, twelve or eighteen months later.

Circumstances change. Jobs are lost. Relationships break down. Financial pressures appear. And sometimes a tenant who looked absolutely right on day one simply stops paying the rent.

So, what happens next?

Centurion will look beyond the start of the tenancy and explore what happens when a seemingly good tenancy begins to unravel.

They'll be joined by a letting agent for “An Agent's Experience”, discussing a genuine tenancy that started well but later went wrong.

They'll look at what happened, how the situation developed, the impact on the landlord and the agency, and, crucially; what happened once the rent stopped being paid.

They'll also look at the different points throughout a tenancy where risk can be better understood or managed, from Referencing and Professional Guarantors through to Alternative Deposits and Rent Guarantee, and how these can work together rather than simply being viewed as individual products.
