eLearning: Asbestos awareness
During this course, you will be guided through what asbestos is and why it is so dangerous; where it might be found; what the legal requirements are to manage asbestos if it's found; and what to do if asbestos materials are disturbed or damaged.
It also includes information about different types of surveys, registers, and management plans, so that you understand the measures that are in place now for identifying and assessing asbestos wherever and whenever it is suspected to be present. The overall message is that all asbestos is dangerous if disturbed, but that the risk can be managed.
Learn about the consequences of disturbance, and how to work safely in workplaces which contain asbestos. However, this course does not cover how to remove asbestos.
