Statistics show increased number of agents seeking to get qualified

In an industry where legislation is ever changing, and with the need to understand what it means to stay compliant; it is positive to see the vested interest from agents at every level of the sector to become qualified.

Propertymark Qualifications

As national lockdowns were eased and agents returned to normal working patterns, Propertymark Qualifications (PMQ) hasn’t seen a reduction of learners booking exams. In fact, in just over six months they recorded over 6,000 exams taken, up to the end of August with over 800 completing and achieving their qualifications in the same period.

With certificates and awards covering a range of specialisms and levels, these specialist qualifications on offer from PMQ continue to meet industry standards and provide access to professional bodies to ensure agents are recognised professionally.

Level 4 sample exam questions

To better support learners, new resources for PMQ Level 4 qualifications have been created to help those studying. Downloadable, interactive sample papers for each unit within Level 4 are available which allow learners to see how a Level 4 exam is presented, as well as practice taking them as computer-based assessments which can then be checked against answer sheets.

Why should I get qualified?

Darshan Sunger, Propertymark Regional Executive for Essex, who passed the Level 3 Award in Residential Letting & Property Management in 2019 and more recently the Level 4 Certificate in Residential Letting & Property Management in August 2021, chose to invest his time to study and accomplish his qualifications.

Sungar’s personal experience in his quest to achieve his qualifications was that everything is possible. Setting bite-sized goals and celebrating those small wins, was key.

However, many agents question how they can find the time to study and run a business. Sungar’s advice is that good managers and businesses should always practice having effective time management skills. Setting an example for the rest of the team is also paramount.

It’s a huge learning curve and I managed to get a lot out of the study materials and sitting the exams. It’s also your way of demonstrating to your clients that you have the expertise and qualifications to provide the very best advice, setting you apart from your competitors.

I have been an ARLA Propertymark member and working practitioner for over 21 years and have always had the letters like all members with MARLA after my name, but this achievement has allowed me to attain Fellowship of ARLA Propertymark which is a badge of honour I wear proudly.
