The Propertymark Qualifications Awards Ceremony is our annual celebration of lifelong learning. Recognising learners, apprentices and employers who support and achieve our property qualifications.

Though 11 awards were up for grabs, this event is more than a standard awards event. Learners and apprentices that had been certified with Propertymark Qualifications since October 2022, fot the chance to celebrate their achievement in a graduation style ceremony where they were be presented with a certificate on stage by, Phil Spencer, founder of Move iQ.

During the event 11 awards were up for grabs; six as a result of nominations and five recognising academic excellence. There was a huge appetite for these award which gave our judging panel plenty of headacehes as decideed our winners.

Learner of the Year

The Learner of the Year is someone who has embraced learning with passion, showing commitment to applying the skills they've gained through their qualification or End Point Assessment with Propertymark Qualifications. Post achievement they could be continuing to study or making progress in their career.

Inspirational Individual of the Year

This special award honours the outstanding contribution of an individual to property education, training and development, with a commitment to improving and upholding professional standards. The individual will be an inspirational leader whose legacy will be felt for years to come, whose unique contribution is evidenced by notable achievements.

Rising Star

The Rising Star is someone that has been in the industry for less than three years and is leaving a mark on the industry by delivering tangible benefits to their employer and are seen as a future leader. They must be working towards, or have achieved, a qualification or apprenticeship with Propertymark Qualifications.

Professional Standards Agency of the Year

This achievement is awarded in separate categories based on the size of the agency. Each award recognises and showcases agencies that place professional standards and qualifications/apprenticeships at the heart of their business and can demonstrate excellence in the area of learning and development.

The awards honouring the learners scoring the highest marks in their examinations and assessments are:

  • Academic Excellence — Lettings
    Level 2 and Level 3 lettings, inventory and tenancy deposit qualifications.
  • Academic Excellence — Sales and Commercial Sales
    Level 2 and Level 3 residential sales & Level 3 commercial qualifications.
  • Academic Excellence —   Auctioneering
    Level 3 chattels and real property qualifications.
  • Academic Excellence — Level 4
    Level 4 sales, lettings and property agency management qualifications.
  • Apprentice of the Year
    Achievement of the Junior Estate Agent Apprenticeship after an End Point Assessment conducted by Propertymark Qualifications.

Katie Griffin (PPNAEA, MARLA, MRICS)

Owner, Sawdye & Harris

Katie is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and Past President of the National Association of Estate Agents Propertymark. Katie sat on the main Propertymark board for some 8 years and now is a board member of Propertymark Qualifications and NAEA Propertymark Regional executive for the West Country. Katie has almost thirty years of property experience across all aspects including estate agency, letting, commercial property and auctions. She runs her own multi-award winning three branch estate and letting agents in the South West.

Michael Day (FNAEA, FARLA, FRICS, MBA)

Managing Director, Integra Property Services

Michael Day is a well-known figure with over 47 years in the property industry. He is a Fellow of NAEA Propertymark and ARLA Propertymark, and also a Fellow of RICS.

Michael is the MD of Integra Property Services, having won accolades at the ESTAS, Negotiator Awards and EA Masters. He’s an industry personality and experienced judge at many property awards.

Recognised as a leading mentor and trainer in sales, management and compliance, Michael is an accredited Propertymark trainer in compliance on AML, CPR and GDPR.

Consultant, Hytchworks

Developing and nurturing the careers of estate and letting agents through training and education is a constant theme in Jan’s working life. With a passion for improving standards in the property sector Jan launched the first ever Property Services courses to be taught in further education colleges in England, resulting in young people leaving college workplace-ready, having already gained their L2 and L3 Propertymark exams.

As a former Propertymark President, Jan has over 30 years’ experience in lettings and estate agency, most of which as an Equity Partner with Arnolds Keys LLP before launching her own consultancy in 2023.

Jan was closely involved in the creation of the Junior Estate Agency Apprenticeship, and now delivers courses on all aspects of Property Agency.

CEO, National Home Move

David has over 44 years industry experience and is currently CEO of National Home Move – 63 Your Move and Reeds Rains branches, Chairman of the Agents Giving charity and a Non-Exec Director at Berkeley Inns.  He was previously PLC Board Executive Director at LSL Property Services PLC with overall responsibility for its estate agency network. He was part of the MBO team, acquiring Your Move and e.surv from Aviva in 2004, the business growing by acquisition and organic expansion to list on the London Stock Exchange in 2006.

Natasha Barrow has worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years, specialising in products for letting and estate agents for most of this time. For the last 10 years, Natasha has worked for Gallagher Insurance, one of the largest insurance brokers in the world and has been the Account Director for Propertymark. An expert in professional indemnity, client money protection and property insurance, Natasha has insurance qualifications through the Chartered Insurance Institute and continues her CII studies towards the Diploma level.
