James Emson, NAVA Propertymark President welcomed the industry specialists and introduced George Wade from Bidpath, who talked about the auction software company.

Paul Wearmouth, customer service and customer experience specialist challenged the audience to provide creative solutions to encourage results through their people and processes.

A highlight of the day was a session on the essential steps that need to be taken to comply with anti-money laundering regulations and avoid hefty fines given by Mark Hayward, NAEA Propertymark Chief Executive. He also brought everyone up to date with the latest findings from the Regulation of Property Agents Working Group (RoPA) report, released in July, which recommends bringing regulation to the sector.

Experts had the chance to choose their sessions from either Bill Harriman, Director of Firearms at the British Association for Shooting and Conservation who covered what you need to do when being asked to dispose of a client’s firearm without committing an offense, and Mark Hayward, NAEA Propertymark Chief Executive who discussed Anti-Money Laundering Regulations and RoPA in relation to property in more detail.

Jeremy Lamond, Charles Loake, Peter Greenway and Colin Young were asked to share their wisdom on the latest in valuation and the benefits of the rostrum versus online-only auctions in an insightful debate.

For the property-focused audience, David Sandeman discussed the current market and potential growth for the future and Louie Burns was on hand who explained the legal rights of leaseholders and the various options you can recommend to clients to help sell their properties.

A great and useful day, the best speakers were Mark Hayward and the Google marketing representative, closely followed by Paul Wearmouth who was quite inspiring with his approach to service.

Thank you for all the hard work in setting up this event and I look forward to the next.
